YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS. WE’VE GOT ANSWERS.

All Tours are Private Boat Rentals for you group only.

So like, what’s a CycleBoat?

Glad you asked! A CycleBoat is a 30-foot catamaran propelled by a large rear paddle and powered by the pedaling of our riders! Each CycleBoat has 10 pedaling stations around a large mahogany bar, comfy bench seats, two large coolers, and a retractable canopy. We operate a fleet of two boats along the Buffalo River and Canalside in downtown Buffalo.

Sounds awesome! How many of my friends can I bring on your pedal boat?

Probably all of them! Our CycleBoats can accommodate 16 guests per cruise. We also do multiple boat rentals for larger parties!

Do you just offer pedal boats?

Nope! We offer 4 different party style boats to choose from! We can accommodate groups of 6 to 25 people per boat. Add multiple boats for larger parties.

I don’t have that many friends. What if there’s just a couple of us?

We have multiple booking options to cater to groups of all sizes. Our smallest rental is for 6 people and goes as large as 25 people.

How long will we be out on the water for?

Tours last a total of 1 hour and 45min from start to finish (a 3 hour tour seemed like bad luck) with a short safety demonstration at the dock. Buffalo CycleBoats is located right downtown at 301 Ohio St, Buffalo NY 14204 (Click to view in Google Maps). We'll pick up you (and your group) at our dock right on the river side of the building. You will receive an email with your boarding information after booking.

I’m in. How do I book a tour?

Nice! To book a tour click right here. Then select a date and time and pick from a full boat or individual tickets. You can use a credit card to finalize your purchase, and don’t forget to read an electronically sign your waiver!

Tour’s booked! Where should I meet you?

We’re docked at 301 Ohio Street, Buffalo, NY 14204. Here’s a map! You’ll board on the dock next to the building. Once you book a tour, we’ll send you an email with more instructions.

What if the weather is iffy on the day of my cruise?

Our canopy’s lets us sail rain or shine. If it’s super gnarly (think thunderstorms or heavy winds) the captain can cancel the tour for the safety of our passengers. Cancellations will occur like a “Baseball Game” at the time of departure. In the event of a captain’s cancellation passengers will receive a rain check at the time of departure.

Got it. What if I have to cancel or change my reservation what happens?

That’d be a bummer. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

Trip Flex allows our customers to change, modify, or cancel their reservation worry-free.

Trip Flex must be purchased at the time of checkout to have the luxury to change any part of their reservation.

If you purchased Trip Flex, you will have up to 14 days prior to your scheduled departure   to cancel your cruise with a full refund minus the Trip Flex amount.

After the 14 day window, only gift certificates will be issued that never expire.

Without Trip Flex, reservations are non-refundable. Only gift certificates will be issued for cancellations made prior to 14 days of your departure.

There will be no refunds or gift certificates issued for cancellations made within the 14 day window of your departure date.

Booking fees are non refundable.

I’m pumped for a boat day. What should I bring?

The basics for a good time on our boats are food, drinks, ice, and music. You can spice it up with decorations, matching outfits or whatever else you need to have fun.

We can drink on the boat? Awesome!

You sure can! Beer, Seltzers, Wine and non-alcoholic beverages are all welcome (hard liquor of any kind is not allowed). A sixer of your favorite beer or a bottle of your best wine – #roseallday – to split with a friend usually does the trick. Just make sure you bring cans. Anything in a glass container will have to be poured into a plastic cup.

What about food?

You can totally bring that too! snacks, charcuterie, sub trays, pizza, whatever you want. It’s all good!

Can you provide the food and drinks for us?

Sorry, we’re strictly BYO. If you need suggestions on drinks head over to your local Consumer’s Beverage. They’ll hook you up with exactly what you need for a successful boat day!

Can I tailgate at the dock?

We like your style, but no-can-do. All beverages, alcoholic or otherwise, have to be consumed onboard per our Good Neighbor Policy. We’re guests at the Ohio Street docks and it’s important to us to be considerate of our friends.

Where do you stop? Wait, can you stop at bars?!

Heck yes, we can stop at bars! We usually only make one stop halfway through the tour, but as long as there is dock space we can head to any of the bars, restaurants, or attractions along the water. Canalside, Buffalo RiverWorks, Hartman’s Distilling Co, Resurgence Brewing Company & Swannie House are all along our route!

Is there a bathroom on board?

There’s no bathroom on board, but we make a pit stop halfway through the tour for anyone that needs a bathroom break. There are also bathrooms available at our dock.

Is it hard to pedal?

Nah. We can raise and lower the rear paddle to increase or decrease resistance. Plus: no hills!

I don’t really want to pedal. Do I have to?

You sure don’t! You can take turns pedaling and enjoying our comfy benches, or we can ditch the pedals completely and motor down the river.

Can I bring my kids?

We are an all ages attraction. Children under 75lbs are required to wear a life vest on board. Any passengers under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult age 25 or older at all times.

I want to rent the whole thing out. Do you do private parties?

Private parties are what we do! You can rent one or both of our boats for bachelorettes, birthdays, corporate outings, or the ultimate Sunday Funday. Let us help you plan an epic boat day! Contact us at 716-800-7543 to set up a private event.

Wait, I don’t have to drive this thing, do I?

Heck no! You’re not even allowed to! All of our tours are directed by US Coast Guard certified captains. We have a master captain and first mate on board for each tour for your safety.

Do I have to wear a life jacket?

Passengers under 75lbs will be required to wear a life jacket onboard and underway. Life jackets are supplied by Buffalo CycleBoats.

Nice, can we tip the staff or no? I don’t want to be weird.

Did you have an awesome time? If you enjoyed your time with our crew tips are a great way to show your appreciation. If not make sure you tell us how we can do better next time.

I’m psyched. Anything else I should know?

Just that we can’t wait to see you on one of our tours! If you have any questions or concerns that we didn’t answer here you can send us an email ant info@BuffaloCycleBoats.com
